1. Gran Museo del Mundo Maya de Mérida

Its collection has a thousand 160 pieces of Mayan culture, including textiles, religious elements, prints, stelae, bas-reliefs, stone sculptures, vessels, typical costumes, ceramic offerings and other elements that were part of the daily lives of the mayan population. 2. Museo de la Cultura Maya

The site is located in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, since April 4, 1993. Among the content offered to visitors are statues, vessels, reliefs, funeral items, jewelry, among other elements. Some of the objects that attract the most attention are the scale reproductions of the Mayan houses which contain the traditional pieces.

3. Museo Nacional de Antropología (MNA)

The MNA dedicates 12 of its 23 rooms to spread pre-hispanic cultures and one of them is exclusively for the Mayan world. As part of its offer the MNA shows the censers of 1.20 meters high and 65 kilos in weight, these elements served to the Maya to communicate with their gods. In another area a space is dedicated for the lintels of Yaxchilán, Chiapas, in which important dates were embodied.

4. Museo de la Medicina Maya

Traditional Mayan medicine had a great importance for this culture, so this museum was created in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, whose mission is to spread what were the traditional remedies to attack different ailments. In 1998 the Museum of Mayan Medicine received the National Covarrubias Museum Award, which is awarded by the National Institute of Anthropology and History.
